I had hoped to showcase my first sewing for quite a while.
I had some time on my hands last night, 90 minutes of time to be precise!
I get the feeling that a lot of sewing will be done during the World Cup.. I mean what else is a football widow to do?
I wanted to make Baylie a skirt using the Amy Butlers Wildflowers fabric that I bought the other week.
I was loosely basing myself on Erin's twirly skirt tutorial, that I have used before, but this time with 2 layers and an elastic waist instead on ties.
All went well until it came to fitting it on Baylie this morning
This will teach me to go patternless and try to wing without refering to the source of inspiration.
Her twirly skirt doesn't twirl.
And trust me, in Baylie's eyes that is unacceptable.
She has specifically requested, and I quote, "a spinny skirt so when it spin, you see my knickers!"
Thats 2 and 3/4 year old speak for those of you who think I'm not very good at grammar.
It also might be time to teach her some modesty!
So the skirt will become a summer top for which ever child it fits best post alterations,
and it's back to the beginning for a twirly whirly skirt.
On a unrelated note:
I've started making Neetle wine.. more on that to follow.
I'm extremely fed up of my house never seeming clean, even after I just cleaned it in the never ending cycle of cleaning that 3 children, 2 dogs, 1 cat and a man entail.
I'm also fed up with my other half's sense of humour when he tells me, albeit jokingly, that it's what housewife's do!
Maybe the cycle will be easier with just the 3 children, 2 dogs and a cat.....
Only joking Honey.
